Stony Creek History

In the summer of 1994, the golf course opened adjacent to an established driving range and miniature golf course. This featured donated obstacles from Western Trails, previously located at 110th Street and Cicero Ave.

The course officially opened to the public July 1, 1984 a week after the Grand Opening Golf Classic--an event sponsored by the Oak Lawn Parks Foundation. The course quickly became a popular attraction in Oak Lawn for golfers from all over the area as a new place to play for kids and adults anxious to learn the sport.

In November 2001, Stony Creek expanded its appeal beyond the golf crowd with the opening of the completely rebuilt Stony Creek Clubhouse. The new clubhouse, which replaced a small concession stand and pro shop, includes an elegant bar and grill, complete with a stone fireplace and huge windows facing the scenic greens of the course. An expanded pro shop is also housed there. Beyond its covered patio, the club house offers lighted bocce-ball courts, horseshoe pits and beautiful landscaping. The clubhouse received a Village Beautification Award from the Village of Oak Lawn's Business Development Committee in 2002 for its English Tudor design and elegant landscapes.

The existing miniature golf course was renovated in 2002. All 18 holes were redesigned to have a back-to nature style with added excitement from elaborate water features. The course now entertains you and old with its waterfull, fountain and boulder design.

Stony Creek Golf Course offers a variety of activities for the whole family and the Oak Lawn Park District hopes that you will enjoy everything Stony Creek has to offer this season.
