Golf Course Message from Tim Scott, Superintendent
STONY CREEK GOLF CUSTOMERS...WELCOME BACK FOR 2011!!!!!
Spring seemed to have arrived early this April when we had a few warm days, and then the rains have come and do not want to go away. Just in the last week or so, we have had over five inches of rain and so we all should hope for great May weather. Even though we do have this bad weather, our maintenance staff still has been busy doing work on the golf course to get it ready for when the good weather arrives. Remember, if you have any questions regarding anything that staff does on the golf course, please contact our staff in the pro shop and/or contact the golf superintendent, Tim Scott.
Greens Maintenance
Our staff always does their best to make sure the golf course and greens are in the best shape possible, regardless the time of year. Currently, we have mowed the greens, changed cups and will only do this on an "as needed basis" until we begin our regular maintenance schedule. Our staff always appreciate the assistance of all the golfers that care enough about the conditions here at Stony Creek GC, by fixing their own ball marks on the greens, replacing divots, raking sand bunkers and obeying golf course etiquette.
Sand Bunkers
We have not done much work in the bunkers due to the rain, but we will begin to rake the same bunkers as soon as we are able to drain water from each and every bunker. Feel free to place your ball in a smooth area of the bunker if you find your ball in a puddle or an area not yet raked.
Golf Cart Usage
At this time, we are requesting that anyone driving a golf cart while on the golf course, to follow all cart usage rules and please try to stay on the cart path, as much as possible. Even when it is wet, we do have cart paths through the entire length of the golf course to make it easier to get around, but if you need to get off the path, please be careful of all wet areas.
Please remember to always operate your golf cart safely and do not cause any damage ot the golf cart you are renting or any other golf cart, as you may be responsible for the repair of the cart. We always want to provide our players and guests the best possible experience while here at the Stony Creek Golf and Banquet Facility.
